Step 1: Get Kawaks and the rom nessasary.

Step 2: Open Kwaks and launch the rom you wish to rip from.

Step 3: After the game is started select characters for player one and 2 so you wont get hit.

To set controlls go to "GAME" -> "REDIFINE KEYS" u should see players 1-4

F1 and F2 are the start Buttons and F3 is to insert coins.

Once you pick the characters press Enter to pause the game.

Holding the "Shit" and hitting "Spacebar" will advance the rom 1 frame makeing it easy to capture.

Step 4: Disabling Layers.

Go to "VIDEO" then "DISABLE" and set it like this it will leave only the characters and their shadow.

 

Step 5: Set the background Color

Set the color to either Cyan or Pink. Wichever u want or if one color is in the characters costume or moves then select the other.

When you pause the rom on the frame, you want take a screenshot by going to TOOLS -> UNFILTERED SCREENSHOT.

After that open it in Photoshop.

Delete everything around the character. In photoshop You will delete the background all at once

using "SELECT"--> "COLOR RANGE"

Click the background color

Set the fuzziness to 0.

Once all selected press the DELETE key and then u can deselect(Ctrl+D)

This is the final Result:

You can also do this again to select and delete the shadow underneath the characters feet.

If you are trying to rip a sprite with something over the character, you can remove parts of the sprite with "Shot Factory".

To get to it go to "TOOLS" -> "SHOT FACTORY".

I recommend clicking "Blink Selected" so you can see what you are going to remove before you do it.

This is great for removing special FX or capturing special FX.
